Just for info: CQ is NOT included in the 2CD "CQ Sessions".
"CQ Sessions" is made of alt. takes which, while still great, are no match
for the final CQ album.

Hi david,
here is the tracklist of project blue vol. 5:

Rave-Ons I'll Come Back To You
Chancellors-Journey
Aardvarks-I Can't Explain
Savoys-I'd Rather Love You
Quarrymen-Don't Try Your Luck
Truths-Pending
Ascensions-All Alone
Blazers-I Don't Need You
Trojans Of Evol-Why Girl
Saints-Girl Forgive Me
Mixed Emotions-Can't You Stop It Now
Freddie & The Freeloafers-You're Gone
Monarchs-Only You Know
Crystal Revelation-Life
Modds-Don't Be Late
Minutemen-Another Day With Me

If you ever look for tracklistings, just download that Searching for Shakes
Programm on Cutie Morning Moon webpage! It´s such a cool programm! But you
will need Access programm for that!
I agree with those prices for Op Art releases! Even here in germany the
prices (e.g.in my mailorderlist) are high (like between $ 9.00 & $ 10.00 for
the singles & $ 13.00 for the 10"s!! But a lot of people buy em, especially
the 10"s, which aren´t that pricey compared to other european comps!!

Its a shame anyway, that all these 60´s comps are so expencive here! Believe
me, it´s not the fault of the Mailorder..just to get em from the Bootleggers
is so expencive! I´d like to compare between Punkrock & Sixties! I carry
both styles in my list! An average boot of a punkrock comp or album can be
sold for like 20,--DM (which is like $ 10.00), but a sixties comp has to be
sold for 30,--DM to even 40,--DM... for no reason!

Exceptions for this are Teenage Shutdowns, Fuzzy & Flaykes, Lost generation,
il sont fous, etc..which have a normal price

I have no idea why these guys make those records so expencive! if you press
like 500 of em, it costs you like 3000,--DM, so you could also easily sell
them for a normal price! But most of em (and just a few pay royalities..)
just want to make big money & ruin the market!!!!

Please, if there are bootleggers on this list (for sure).. I don´t wanna
piss you off, but try to keep prices down, so more & more can enjoy the
music! Rockn´n Roll wasn´t meant to be just for the rich guys!!

Upps, too much blabla this time..but I´m looking forward to hear all you
guys opinion, best

Lutz

Yeah, I didn't care much for the "CQ Sessions." They didn't seem as inspired

Abso-effin'-lutely! I gotta' agree, those are the winning combination of
elements that have made The J&MC a long time guilty pleasure of mine (minus
the "Edward Scissor Hands meets The Cure at the mall" fashion sensibilities),
but don't forget a healthy presence of The Ramones played on 16, also a big

Greetings,

I remember purchasing "Psycho candy" in 1986. It
may sound like an odd comparsion, but I used to
describe the Jesus and Mary Chain's sound as a low
budget 1965 Beatles recording session meets an in-
dustrial accident.

In the early 1990s at East Carolina University, I
started to get into the Charlatans UK, Ride, Lush,
My Bloody Valentine, Pale Saints, etc. I think that
"Psycho Candy" made noise extremely acceptable.

Crawdaddy Simon presents

"The Platonic Dialogues Of Rock N' Roll, Sort Of"

starring CRAWDADDY SIMON, LESTER BANGS' NEPHEW, and THE ANONYMOUS ROCKER

Scene 1: The occasion was an afternoon banquet set up by an enthusiast
sponsor in the lovely garden of his countryside villa. Laying on couches
we gulped down grapes and chatted gaily as our host's exquisitely
refined servants patted our bums and fanned our armpits. We all sported
fine new togas, and our talkative trio quickly became the center of
attention, as were present, in addition to my self, Lester Bangs' famed
nephew, as well as an elusive, mysterious anonymous rocker.

Crawdaddy Simon: But what I'd like to know, my friend, is what it
implied to be the nephew of the world's most famous rock scribe…
Lester Bangs' Nephew: Well Simon, imagine what it must've been like to
be Huey, Dewey, or even Louie, I mean, to be related to Don Duck… Pretty
much a 24-7 job, you'll agree. Uncle Lester was a very kind man, but I
gotta say it was always an intense experience to be around him. For
instance, most people know about him wrestling with Handsome Dick
Manitoba, but it was something else when he got it in his mind to
wrestle Bill Burroughs! I tell you, the old man was totally helpless in
the paws of Uncle Lester, who kept hollering something about the blank
generation taking over from the beats… Same thing with Patti Smith's
broken neck. I wasn't around at the time it happened, but I heard it
might've been my uncle.
CS: But, didn't he enjoy Patti's records?
LBN: Yes, Crawdaddy, but you know she was very brittle, a poet.
CS: Did anybody ever knock Lester down?
LBN: As far as I know only Debbie Harry, but she tickled him, so it
doesn't really count.
CS: What about that 'Last Of The White Niggers' t-shirt that Lester used
to wear?
LBN: Oh, that's funny, it was actually a typo, the shirt should have
read 'Last Of The Night Wiggers', a remnant from the much-toupeed glam
era in New York…
CS: Lester Bangs' Nephew, are you in touch at all with other rock
nephews?
LBN: A congregation of simpletons, Crawdaddy Simon! These sorry excuses
for rock nephews wouldn't give five bucks to Chuck Berry if the old man
stoop to suck their puny collective dick, and I'll stand on Little
Richard's coffee table with my boots on and say that!
… There's a bunch of us hardcore nephews around, but it's pretty much a
clandestine network, you know, Metal Mike's nephew, who else? Shane
Williams' nephew when he's not wasting away in reform school… A couple
of years ago some guy was going around pretending to be Meltzer's nephew
but it turned out to be Mike McGonigal's second cousin in disguise, how
lame! Of course I'm still urging Tim Stegall, Mike Stax and all to get
nephews a.s.a.p., even yourself, Crawdad', you should tell your brother
to get busy.
CS: Give him time man, he's just a kid. Besides I'm sort of a rock
nephew myself…
LBN: Really?
CS: Yeah, my uncle used to be a roadie for a metal band, and he digs The
Pack and lotsa cool shit.
LBN: I hear you, Daddy, but the thing is, you have to realize that the
times they are a-changin', excuse my French. I'm one of the oldest rock
nephews in activity in the nation right now. I mean who else is there?
Greil Marcus' nephew only listens to ambient soundscapes from the
Mediterranean, Byron Coley's nephew is heavily into techno, and
Christgau's nephew? Gimme a break, he's flipping burgers at White Castle
and half of 'em land on the floor!
CS: White Castle, uh?…
LBN: Yeah… Oh shit! Stackwaddy, my man, do you think there could be hope
for this guy?
CS: Well, has he heard the Dictators' "Go Girl Crazy!", that's the
question! You should investigate man, this guy is Christgau's nephew,
goddammit! If he digs the Dictators today we could take over the fuckin'
Village Voice tomorrow! What do you think, anonymous rocker?
The Anonymous Rocker: I stupid.
CS: …
LBN: …
TAR: …
CS: …Weeell, he has a point there, after all we strive to establish the
arch-prominence of arch-stupid arch-punk 'rock' among other superior and
thus inferior forms of expression.
LBN: Well put, Crack Daddy, and I should like to add that we therefore
partly but seriously abide by the logic of Stewart Home's dialectics…
CS: Home being the only Limey rock theoretician who matters…
LBN: But you can't even call him a theoretician…
CS: Indeed you can't, since this would be invalidating his point, which
is that punk-rock cannot be theorized!
LBN: Ha! Ha!
CS: Ha! Ha!
TAR: I stupid.
CS: Once again, admirably put, anonymous rocker. Now tell me, Nephew,
did your uncle Lester ever get to meet Uncle Fester?
LBN: Unfortunately it did not happen, Steak Daddy, and let me tell you I
find this regrettable, as I would certainly have enjoyed the opportunity
to try and cheer Christina Ricci up. Moreover you'll agree that a
meeting of these two giants of Western popular culture, one as hairy as
the other was hairless, would have constituted a memorable event.
CS: It would have, indeed. Let me get more specific now and… What's
that, rocker?
TAR: I stupid.
CS: And we certainly love you for it… I was gonna tell you, Nephew, you
are one legendary nephew, I mean like when you got all excited about
listening to the Godz' "Contact High", you know, how it got stars for
lousiness… You're an inspiration to all of us, nephews and non-nephews
alike, nieces and non-nieces as well!
LBN: Thank you, Big Daddy, I really appreciate, and you know in a way
this is like you rockin' out to the Corpse Grinders, it makes sense,
y'know.
CS: Yeah…
LBN: Yeah.
TAR: I stupid.
CS: Yeah… Now let me wink loudly and ask you something else, Nephew…
Come on, "Carburetor Dung"? "Cartesian Jetstream"? "Ancient Lace"…?
"Snowflakes"…? Mmmh…
LBN: I have them all at home, Mack Daddy, and they're all amazing
albums.
CS: I'm stunned, speechless really! Who woulda thunk it? The Count
motherfuckin' Five!

I haven't listened much to the Jesus & Mary Chain since the second LP.
Still, _Psychocandy_ remains one of my favorite albums of the 80s. I always
thought of songs like "You Trip Me Up" as beautiful melodies desperately
treading water in an angry sea of foamy noise.

I was also glad to see, tho', that they didn't try to do that same exact
thing with the follow-up. Instead, that one just had some great Beach
Boys-like melodies, slowed down a bit, tho'. (I like the "Kill Surf City"
7"er quite a bit.) But, yeah, "April Skies" is also a great one.

After the second LP, tho', I pretty much lost track of them... How's their
newer stuff?

HELL YES!!! When I do my show, I am not just a jukebox cranking out the
Nuggets and the Pebbles! I'm playing the music I feel, it's my show and my
ego, and you're welcome to join and in be a part of it!!!! Which means
you'll hear 45s from my collection along with comped stuff, and the
selections will run the gamut from soul to snarling garage to psych to
baroquish pop, to some later punk when the mood strikes... to '60s radio
airchecks... and more soul. It's just the way I listen to music. Ever try
listening to an hour-long comp of frat garage?... it gets boring, even
though the songs jam. They need some soul sauce! That's my job, pour the
soul sauce, make the music flow, make it work, make it shake rattle and
roll. If ya like it, you're invited to my place to hear me play records
again next week. If you don't, you can watch the Grammys or listen to

Yo,
Psychopunch rocks pretty hard in a metal kind of way. They are worth
checking out but wait until you can find it 2nd hand. Nothing new under the
sun here... Heard the new Turpentines yet? Also try to find a band called
Mary Slim, they are cooool!

I'm thinking of buying some cheap Get Back releases from a mail order
company here in Norway.
So, can anyone recommend/describe the following albums:

Bubble Puppy - A Gathering Of Promises
Lost & Found - Everybody's Here
Godz - Third Testament
Golden Dawn - Power Plant

Thanks!

bård.
