Apparently I'm the only person in the world that enjoys the glam album.
Hell, there never was enough glam records to begin with. I can't fault
them for making another one. There other stuff is great as well...but
what's wrong with releasing something a little different.

I mentioned in an earlier post on how those Peavey Combos were notorious for
catching fire and or frying up.

There's alot of other old amps out there that sound great and can be found
pretty cheap.

I've got a '67 Guild Maverick w/ 2x10" speakers - about 25 watts and it looks
awesome and sounds better!
I forgot what I paid for it - but it was probably around 100 dollars. It's
great for small club gigs, and it could be miked at bigger gigs.
it's perfect for recording too.

Jahnna mentioned old Ampeg combos - they're by far the most under-rated US made
amps in the vintage market.

I've got a Sound City Concord 2x12 combo that SMOKES any fender or marshall -
and it's 50 watts of blissful tone.
The lead guitarist in my band (The Anderson Council) used his SC Concord on our
CD Coloursound. These amps aren't common,
but can be found under $500.

If you go to http://www.mp3.com/andersoncouncil - listen to the first 2 songs
('67 and Hole in The Sky) you can hear good examples.
(well - with his tone bender fuzz box).

if you have one of the crappy ones just leave it alone and get something
else. it's very likely that no matter how much you fix it it will always give
you problems. there's been plenty of really good suggestions so far. i'd just
save up some cash, trade in that Marshall, and try some old amps out. just
keep trying 'em out and trading around 'til you find the one that works.
