Greetings,

I really dig MySpace.Com, but I also miss this list as well. So let me put forth a topic. About a month ago, I purchased "After the Fox" (1966) starring Peter Sellers. The theme song performed by The Hollies is so damned catchy. Just for those not aware of the movie plot, it starts to take place in Egypt with a gold heist. The criminals want the gold transported to Italy, but it is never explained why. But the criminals want the help of a clever petty thief by the name of Aldo Valluci (sp?). Aldo Valluci (played by Sellers) escapes from prison and forms the partnership with those with the gold. He has his gang and his sister, Gina (Valluci) Romantica, who is a struggling actress. An idea of stealing some camera/film equipment, conning a "famous" American actor in doing a fictious film called "The Gold of Cairo," and using the people of a small tiny village, Disalvo (sp?) takes place. The police in Italy are after him as well as Interpol. For some reason, I do not !
 think tha

Cheers!

Hey,

This week Rocky and Deena paid our respeccts as we near the 48th anniversary
of the tragedy that stole buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper (who
always seems to get over-looked and sure enough, we didn't have any of his
stuff to play either). We also dedicated sets to finally catching "Get
Yourself A College Girl" on Turner Classic Movies as well as our new
cave-dweller computer. Here's how the data streamed:

*Michael Rault & The Mixed Signals - Sure Is Fun

Los Plugz - La Bamba

Paley Brothers - C'mon Let's Go

*Deadcats - Rockin' with Ollie Vee

Buddy Holly - Think It Over

Mike Berry & the Outlaws - Tribute to Buddy Holly

Swingin' Neckbreakers - Thinkin' Man's Girl

Standells - I'll Go Crazy

*Hou-lops - Bony Moronie

Animals - Club A Go Go

Dave Clark Five - Having A Wild Weekend

*Les Classels - Glad All Over

 Girlschool - 20thtCentury Boy

Pandoras - I Want My Caveman

The Wicked Ones - Back to My Cave

Cramps - Primitive

Bill Nelson's Red Noise - Don't Touch Me I'm Electric

*Neil Young - Mister Soul (from Trans)

*Sonic Youth - Computer Age

*Gruesomes - Cave In

Hi Carl and Bompers,

I remember reading the mainly positive reviews at the Garage punk forum too
before I invested in the first four volumes. Just got 'em yesterday and
although it's great to have a few formerly vinyl-only nuggets on CD, overall
the series is over-rated IMHO. Mostly focuses on the moodier or more timid
US teen garage sounds. In other words, don't expect the quality or ferocity
of Back From The Grave, Teenage Shutdown, Garage Punk Unknowns, Pebbles or
Fuzz, Flaykes and Shakes. Nice enough tunes in the Garage Zone vein, but
for my money, the recent Psychedelic States and Gravel series are stronger.
Could be we've finally mined most of the gold!

Just my 2 cents.

Haven't seen this since the 60's. It was a good one. I bought the Sound
Track to get that Hollies song, which I see is still sealed! Might be a
70's reissue

GANDALF 2 released today on SUNDAZED

The exotic, mindbending sounds of Gandalf have long been one of the
great lost treasures of the first psychedelic era. Featuring the
breathy vocals and lysergic guitar of Peter Sando, the band's only
album, a delight from start to finish, has generated a fervent demand
for more of the same. Gandalf 2, is a return trip to the band's
garden of earthly delights. A thorough search of Sando's tape vault
revealed a fabulous stash of spellbinding demos and acetates, unheard
for decades!
