Don't know what the line-up is these days---but caught 'em in the late 80s and they were kinda meeehhh...but I'd rather see the Stooges anyway...

After seeing The Saints twice in the last year, I would recommend you see
The Stooges. Not that The Saints weren't good, I just think that The Stooges
would be better. The Saints played their whole set essentially as one song
with no real breaks. It was also a sludgy mess with only one guitar. Having
seen The Stooges 4 times, they were definitely the better, more intense
band.

I expect to be absolutely heartbroken and confused because The Stooges play at exactly the same time as The Saints and there's no way in hell to catch 'em both.

Cynics will be great, I'm sure, and The Woggles. The Buzzcocks are coming. There's more...I just woke up. You'll find plenty to do.

I think it depends on you and on your stereo.

This is fairly subjective, but if you're happy with the way mp3's sound on your stereo then it seems like a reasonable choice. Especially if you're in the market for a new turntable either way.

On some systems I can hear a difference between mp3's and analog, and also the difference between various sample/bit rates. This is most evident if you listen to them side by side, and once again, individual taste dictates how much this does/doesn't bother you.

Now that I've noticed the difference, I prefer to capture at 24bits/96kHz and then cook the digital capture down to CD format (16 bit/44.1kHz). A lot more work, I know. As you can guess, most of my vinyl is not digitized.
