i'd say if you must eat bbq in austin go to sam's on east 12th. i'd steer
clear of stubb's. ruby's is good, but more like a funky little austin
restaurant than a full on bbq joint.

but if you're gonna come all the way to TX and want great bbq, smitty's or
kruez in lockhart are only a 45 min. drive (prime rib at kreuz was called
the "meat epiphany" by a reviewer in tx monthly a few yrs back). city
market in luling is even better and just another 15 miles down the same
road. opie's in marble falls is probably a little more than an hour away
but it's unreal. cooper's in llano (2 hrs) is the mecca. you walk out of
any of those joints and you'll be saying "that was worth the drive -- let's
come back tomorrow."

Yep, it's true! I must confess I'd been missin' it too, so glad to be bearing CS! tidings once again.........blame/praise Jon and Mike F for getting it gear once more after our hiatus!

As I was speaking to Jon earlier today, we can't believe it's been SIX YEARS since the last CS! Here's the first release, more to follow and in the days ahead, past pics and current info will be posted on myspace....
  ~ALYSSA
  http://www.myspace.com/dna6769
  http://www.myspace.com/cavestomp

Psssssst! Pass it on..... STOMPERS! STOMPETTES! Set the wayback machine because TONIGHT WE'RE GONNA' PARTY LIKE IT'S 1966! Get ready to again be dazzled by the swirling lights and Vox organ, deafened by the fuzz guitars, crushed by the crowd, and drowned in oceans of beer and
sweat because CAVESTOMP!- "The Garage Rock Festacular!" returns!

CAVESTOMP!2007 will be held at Warsaw (www.warsawconcerts.com) located at 261 Driggs Ave Greenpoint, Bklyn 11222 U.S.A.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 2ND & SATURDAY NOVEMBER 3RD AND SET TO COINCIDE WITH YOUR OTHER FAVORITE NOVEMBER EVENT, THE WFMU RECORD FAIR! Star- studded line ups, parlor tricks, and tix details to be announced soon!

Since it's inception in 1997, CAVESTOMP! set the bar (and often could be found passed out under it) for annual garage rock gatherings around the world. When it comes to assembling on one stage the true legends of '60's underground rock with todays snot nosed young garage upstarts hellbent on ruining their own lives just like their heroes, nobody does it better than CAVESTOMP! Emcee'd with tough love by Peter Zaremba of The Fleshtones, it's Nuggets come to life! CAVESTOMP! "The Garage Rock Festacular!" is largely to blame for returning to the stage (and we have the pictures and tapes to prove it) such legends of garage such as :
The Gants, Richard & The Young Lions, Barry & The Remains, The Monks, The Chocolate Watchband, ?&The Mysterians, The Litter, The Standells, The Pretty Things, Sky Saxon, The Third Bardo, The Creation, Sean Bonniwell, The Blues Magoos, The Troggs, Downliner Sect, Syndicate Of Sound, The Zombies, Mark Lindsay, Shadows Of Knight and more...! Not to mention celebrating the young(ish?) guns of garage such as The Vipers, Secret Service, Mosquitoes, Cheepskates, Optic Nerve, Fuzztones, Fleshtones, Chesterfield Kings, Woggles, Detroit Cobras, Mooney Suzuki, Lyres, Hatebombs, Gravedigger V, Swingin' Neckbreakers, 5,6,7,8's, Greenhornes, Insomniacs, Brood, Nomads, Hentchmen,Kaisers, Buff Medways, Makers, and many, many more who have STOMPED! the CAVESTOMP! floorboards! Tell US who YOU want to see this year and whether they're dead or alive, we'll try and get 'em for this years STOMP!

I second that. Unless there's a Sonics reunion, you can't do better than
Mary Weiss for a headliner.
