I'll second the emotion on the Barbary Coasters. I should be seeing the
Griefs next week.

And Rocky's pitch for the Telltale Hearts is right up my alley, too.

I found it rather lacking in the songwriting department - it seems that Iggy's pissed away his songwriting skills. The songs are essentially throw aways seemingly tossed off at the spur of the moment and they don't really work. It's hardly the worst album ever or even the worst Iggy album, but it does tarnish the Stooges legacy.

Thanes might be into coming over for Cavestomp. They were definitely one of

Some other great 80's acts that would be welcome additions might be the

From: Blair Buscareno <blairb@mac.com>
Subject: [bomp] 3/16 The Miscreants invade Brooklyn

Unbeknownst to the multitudes (till now), The Miscreants will be
embarking upon a grueling multi-state tour beginning this Friday.

Grueling, that is, for The Miscreants
(http://www.myspace.com/themiscreantsnj)

See, we'll be hitting Bar Matchless (http://www.barmatchless.com) in
Brooklyn this Friday, 3/16 at 10 PM. For only 5 bucks, you get 4 bands,
including us, Twenty Minutes to Vegas, and the Shalitas. (Sorry, I've
forgotten who the opening act is. My apologies, but they weren't on
there when it was booked, so I don't know. And I'm lazy.)

Then, on Friday the 23rd, we're off to parts unknown. Well, actually,
they're pretty well known. Not always *liked*, but known, at any rate.
See, we'll be in New Jersey. Which just so happens to be the state in
which I reside. (And, consequently, where we rehearse.) This makes
this one easy for me, since The Clash Bar (http://myspace.com/clashbar)
is pretty close by, over in lovely Clifton (the city of many geographic
tentacles.) On this one, we'll also be on at 10. However, in NJ, we're
the opening act, to be followed by the support act (The Insomniacs) and
finally, the headliners, those Swamis of SuperRock (TM), The Fleshtones.

So, uh...Yeah, come on out. Have fun. See us. Buy stuff from
us...Cupcakes? Yeah, Miscreants cupcakes, that's it! (Cue my lovely
girlfriend Maureen, who will now begin a desperate soda bread - for St.
Paddy's Day - and cupcake bake-a-thon to raise money for a new
Miscreants' publicist.)

You want that info again?

WHO: The Miscreants (that's us) -
http://www.myspace.com/themiscreantsnj (where you can find all this
info, anyway)
WHAT: ROCK AND ROLL (or some simulation of such) and, if Maureen's
serious, cupcakes. (Yeah, I doubt it, too.)
WHEN: This Friday (3/16) in Brooklyn at Bar Matchless
(http://www.barmatchless.com) and next Friday (3/23) in Clifton at The
Clash Bar (http://myspace.com/clashbar)
WHERE: I just told you that. Pay attention! (But both are at 10
PM...or so.)
WHY: Uh...Because we like you?
M-O-U-S-E.

HOW? That remains to be seen. And heard. Hopefully not tasted,
touched, or...worse yet, smelled. (Except for the cupcakes...Those last
3 are fine for the cupcakes.)

Haven't heard The Weirdness. I'll probably end up buying it no matter what
anyone says, but thanks for the heads up anyhow.

I did notice that the Stooges tunes on the Skull Rings album were not what
I'd have expected. Lyrics were far more detached, not so much in the
first-person like they always used to be.

The Stooges. Not that The Saints weren't good, I just think that
  The Stooges

would be better. The Saints played their whole set essentially as
  one song

with no real breaks. It was also a sludgy mess with only one
  guitar. Having

seen The Stooges 4 times, they were definitely the better, more
  intense

  band.

  Stooges

  hell to

  > catch 'em both.

  are

  > coming. There's more...I just woke up. You'll find plenty to do.
