While in Tokyo, I saw a really good band that all of the Bomp-jin should
definitely check out. The Bawdies are a bunch of real young guys who dress
to the nines in stylish beatle-gear and played an amazingly tight
high-energy garage/beat performance at the Red Cloth in Shinjuku. There are
some pictures here:

Lots of great showmanship. They blazed through their entire set without
taking off their wool jackets. I patted the drummer's back after the show
and it felt like a soaking wet sponge! Gross!

I'm pretty sure they've never played outside of Japan yet, but when they do,
be sure not to miss 'em.

And on a similar note, I donbt give a crap what the press says, the
new album is excellent. On the level of bFunhouseb? No, but then
again what is.>>

I have to preface this by saying I've only heard a few songs from it, but judging by those I dont believe it deserves the dressing down it has been getting either. Can't really say I'm surprised though.
You hit the nail on the head when you say, 'On the level of funhouse no- but then again, what is'
I can't imagine what people were realistically expecting.
I hear them having a good time, and it oozes Iggy-ness.
